Some thoughts on the challenges of working from home, modeling conduct, and learning from Elena Paraskevas-Thadani (She/Her)
“Mom, close the door, I am in class! They can SEE YOU!” My 16 year old said while gesturing wildly when I checked in on her e-learning this morning. Not quite sure what exactly prompted the outrage that someone might actually see her parent at home, when she is learning, well, from home.
I was pleased, on the one hand, that she was taking her classes seriously. Of course, it may have been lost on her that during the last 7 months she had walked into my business meetings frequently. Perhaps she was taking her cue from my reactions over half a year. This caused some introspection.
One thing is clear, and it is appropriate to mention especially now that school is back in session: we are always learning how to navigate new situations, and whether we are aware of it or not, we are learning from each other.
